Last Saturday I inventoried the deep freeze and fridge freezer and discovered there were too many cooked meals in zip bags. My challenge for June is to create all meals from pantry and freezer, using up items before expiry. I put $ 100. in an envelop for fresh produce, milk and items needed to complete recipes.
Thus far I've spent $1.99 for bananas to extend breakfast smoothies. I planned to buy raisins for rice pudding but the nearby 'bin' store was out of raisins.
This will be a particular challenge as I now learn we are expecting visitors in mid June and near the end of the month family we have never met [from Australia] will be using our home as their base while they travel in the region. This adds 4 extra mouths to feed in mid June and 2 people sporatically. YIkes!
