Use a gas rebate card. My USAA Mastercard gives me 3% bonus rewards for gas purchases on top of the 1% normal rewards (4% total). This is equivalent to 15-16 cents a gallon.
EDIT: Also, Consumer Reports says that rolling down your windows doesn't help your gas mileage for highway driving because of increased drag. You are better off using the fan with the A/C off and the windows up.
