It depends how particular you are. Likewise, leaks are less of a problem after year 1. I think people stick with the expensive brands not realizing they are not necessary after a while. Babies are very leaky early on. LEss leaky with age.
Generic has always been leak-free for us (though we didn't use on infants since they were cloth diapered mostly).
