Gas is over $1.33/litre here, and is only going in one direction (I'll let you guess which direction that is). I actually sold my car (which was an '03 Toyota Corolla) and am bicycling to work and college. My DH still has a car, so I have one available to me if I really need to use it. They are saying within a couple years the price will be over $2/litre. Just look at Europe - gas is outrageously expensive there, and everybody drives around in little 3 cylinder vehicles. No, I don't think the price of gas will go down because everybody starts driving more efficient vehicles. I do think that the opposite is true - the higher gas goes, the more people start driving efficient vehicles.
