I have to say I have been really frustrated with Target's return policy lately. I don't know if they changed or what, but there are a lot of restrictions. From what I remember:
-Without a receipt, you only get store credit that can be used in the same department as the original item
-Without a receipt, each person can only return a small dollar amount per year (I think it is $25!!)
-If the item is considered "seasonal" they will not accept the return at all, even with a receipt, even if it is clothing
I can understand that they are trying to limit costs but I think it is excessive personally. I know other stores are not this restrictive.
I guess the lesson is to always save your receipts from Target, get gift receipts if it's for someone else, and return items as soon as you decide you don't want them.
