Hmm.... The article extols the virtues of Diversification and Patience for the longer horizon. Two points that I agree with and have always advocated in the past.

He also has a disdain for individual stocks, which I can't blame him or anyone else for feeling that way. Even the (real) experts will tell you this is a difficult way to invest. Still, I'm OK with that. Like building your own car rather than just picking one up from a local car lot. I don't mind the time, effort, and even the risk involved.

As for annuities, his life-long love affair with annuities has always been an open-secret. Good ole Ben. It's even funnier when you read it back-to-back with articles from Suze, that rejects exactly what Ben advocates. And then there's also Kiyosaki.... Whenever I see any articles from Yahoo Finance, I always think that the carnival is coming to town.
