There is a small service here called Clearwire. Last I checked, it was $40 a month, and the first 3 months is $10. As far as I can tell (and it's not far
), it uses broadband cellphone technology. So, speeds are faster than dial-up, but slower than normal DSL or cable. If the reception is reliable, I'd seriously consider it. For now, I'm getting reliable DSL for a little bit more (after negotiating with my provider's customer service rep.)
