Horses used to create hormone replacement are stuffed in a two foot wide stall (24 hour a day), for months on end, with a tube to collect urine 24/7, repetative pregnancies, suffering many ailments due to confinement. All of these horses and the babies produced are considered by-product and are sold to dealers to be sent to slaughter when they no longer serve purpose. This kind of equine use adds to the complicated problematics of horse slaughter issues.
