I work for a local bank in NJ. For children's accounts (Kids Smart Savings) there is a minimum of $25 to open and they give you $5 when you open it.
However if it's an adult savings account, there's a minimum of $100 and they charge a $3/month fee when it gets below $100.
They also have a holiday club where you can open with $1
