Now that Ecuador has had severe flooding, we can expect bananas to go up even higher. We're waiting at our store to see how high we'll have to raise the price.
Plus the severe droughts last summer effected the wheat and hay crops, which explains the high price of any foods made with flour. It also explains why the cost of milk and eggs skyrocketed. Farmers have to pay more for hay and grain and feed for chickens. They have to make up the cost somewhere.
