Seems like new online banks are opening up every day. But I don't know who's picking the names.
There's a few that have been around a while like VirtualBank and NetBank. Even though VirtualBank has had some good deals, the name "VirtualBank" doesn't give me a feeling of comfort....
Now a pretty new online bank MyBankingDirect is offering some competitive deals like 3.75% on a money market account. But again, the name is lame.
If there are any bankers out there thinking about starting an online bank, here are a few names to avoid:
