I have been brewing my own coffee for years. I have a nice travel mug and don't ever leave home , even for a 5 min trip without making myself some coffee. I really don't care for fancy coffee. I like black coffee but I do like hazelnut and other flavored coffees. I don't add milk and sugar but will occassionaly do so and steam milk for company. To "steam milk". I put a half cup of milk in the microwave, then I put it pitcher and whip with a blender to create my own flavorful javas. A shot of carmel ice cream syrup and the steamed milk, then I sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon.
BTW, I am intrigued with the idea of growing your own coffee. Why not? I think it would be fun. Is this possible to do in one's home? I would like to hear more about this possibility.
