Flight School: Inspired to Fly Free DVD
Quote:
With the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center as their classroom, students are introduced to the amazing men and women of early powered flight, see their world-changing accomplishments, and learn important scientific principles behind the early flying machines.
Highlights include an extended look of the Wright Flyer and an explanation of wing-warping, pioneered by Orville and Wilbur Wright. The role of aircraft during World War One is also discussed, along with barnstormers, and the record-breaking travels of Wiley Post. Special segments include Aviation Connection, where students are introduced to key principles of flight, and Professional Profile about the men and women who continue a tradition of flying faster and farther then ever before.
The DVD is provided free of charge by a generous grant from the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association. Special features include How-to for Teachers; Connection to Aviation; The Wright Experience Tour; Pre-Flight Checks with Major Lewis; and Docents Highlight Museum Artifacts.
