It’s hard to recommend something else if we don’t know what you had in the first place, but from what you’ve added you sound like you’re on a prepaid plan. Prepaid plans in asia are great value, but not here, where they still charge you on both ends for calls and shove whatever new models into your hand regardless of quality or user friendliness.
Until we find out your current plan, the best thing I can recommend is not to use carrier 411. Use the whole load of free services that are out like 1-800-free411. Sure, you’re still using your bank of minutes for the call, but it’s one less service charge you need on your plate.
