I would just suggest going to your public library. You can request books and sometimes they will order them. I try to read one every month although I've taken a break lately. You can even read online now from your library.

Also, once you buy books from Amazon (NEW), they have a section that will let you read substantial portions of books before you buy them. It's really pretty neat.
