For what it's worth, I use half honey/half maple syrup in my granola - only 1/4 c. total though, so even though they are both expensive, you really don't need a lot. I buy rolled oats for $.51/lb. Raisins and cranberries can be cheap if bought in bulk. My most expensive ingredient is sliced almonds, but totally worth it for me. Still cheaper than buying it already made, plus I get to control sugar and nutrition content.
Back to the original post, I have checked out Amazon before, but never found anything I used regularly (enough to justify buying it in bulk). Thanks for the reminder though - I like to check back every so often. I believe they have a clearance section as well.
