I've made my own coffee for years and like many of you, get the coffee pot ready the night before. I had a coffee pot at school for awhile, but due to the cost of power, all individual coffee pots have been outlawed by our district, so I'm back to the thermos. I also keep tea bags available at work as well as at home.
Just a side note, if you bake chocolate cakes, left over cold coffee is a good addition -- it is said to make the chocolate flavor come out more.
As for water, I refill the bottles with water from home from my filter pitcher. One gal I work with tells me I'm really cheap -- during the warm months I put a green tea bag in the water bottle for green tea -- yet she's the one who always has more month left than money.
