i definately agree with mandating learning life skills... logical mental math, reading, personal finance, etc, because those are things you must know to succeed in any area of life with or without a college degree under your belt. i also feel those are parents responsibilities too so children will have a firm foundation for breaking into the "real world" when they pass 18.
