Actually, by this administration’s own estimates, this “Energy Bill” will not increase oil and gas production in the United States by any amount whatsoever over the next 20 years. That reality says a lot about why this unfortunate legislation is being enacted.

True, but of course, only about 25 percent of the subsidies in the bill go to renewable energy and energy efficiency, and most of those are just extensions of previously existing tax credits, whereas about 65 percent of the subsidies in the bill are for oil and gas companies, the nuclear industry, and for the electric utility industry. More massive Corporate Welfare, and crumbs for the consumer.
