Red face Tax and retirement advice

Hello.
I have a new situation with many things I have never dealt with before, so I have several questions. I started a new job this year. I work for a private family. I do not have any tax being taken out from my paycheck. I have been saving money each month so that I can pay the tax next year. I believe that I will have to file a 1010 (?) form for my taxes next year, but I'm not sure about this. If so, am I able to deduct all work expenses on my taxes? Also, I did work part of the year with a W-2. Do I have to use two separate forms when I do my taxes next year?
The second part is that I have some retirement from school districts saved up. I would like to roll that over into an IRA. Can anyone recommend a good IRA? Any other suggestions on saving for retirement would be helpful. I have never done any investing on my own and would like to get started doing the right thing. Thanks!
