Some good ideas already mentioned. Using scrap jean material or using a patch to make them more uniquely yours.

I usually just try to stitch them the best I can & save them for home use. As I usually get tears by the horizontal stitching to the left of the zipper pannel & just sewing it up gives it a few more months of life. I'd patch them but I don't need any more emphasis on my waistline as it is if you KWIM?
