I know plenty of families of 5 who travel regularly. In fact, those with 3 kids are far more likely to drive than to fly to save money.
We are a family of 3, but we often travel with some other family (my mom or MIL and/or my cousin) so we often take long drives with 4 or 5 in the van. No way would I want to do that in a car.
