Well we were going to go to Miami the first week of April when the kid's were off for spring break. We priced hotels and were amazed at what they cost (make hay while the sun shines comes to mind). $300-$400 per night is a big wake up call. So then we decided to go to Orlando (maybe Universal Studios) $175-$200 per night. We would only stay two nights the rest we stay at families' homes. Then we figured that between driving from New York for 4 days total (with a three year old BTW ) and spending over two grand we really don't have to spare it just wasn't worth it. So now we'll take a long weekend and go meet other family at Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky OH. A lot cheaper of a vacation.
I'm tired of spending more money than I actually have to impress other people and my wife is finally getting the message as to what debt is doing to our lives.
