Yesterday while the snow was falling I went out to get a head start on the shovelling. I went out again later after it stopped to shovel the rest that had fallen. A couple hourse later I looked out and the stinkin' stuff had blown back over the walkway and sidewalk.
This morning I was out there shovleing and scraping again. I challenge anyone in this city to find a cleaner, drier public sidewalk now!
Today my Valentine's Day love note to my U.S. post office was written on the back side of a big cardboard label. It was taped to my front porch railing and said: ICEY STEPS~~~OKAY TO SKIP U.S. MAIL. That valient letter carrier climbed the steps anyway. And all for junk mail. The steps are on the north side of the house. The ice is about 3/4" thick and it is just barely too cold for salt to melt it.
