Default Re: Where Is the Best Place To Hide Money In Your House?

The only thing I would say about it is the bravado that ex-burglar is displaying. He's right to some extent. They can and will turn a house inside out, because they know that the longer they work it, the more they are likely to find.

However, regardless of bravado, it really depends on how much time they think they have, don't they? If they think they'll get caught anytime soon, they probably won't have time to tear your house apart, even if they want to. However, if they think they've got all night....

Earlier, I've made a response on where I really hide my money, but... then decided to delete it. However, I'll just briefly summarize that I personally don't have it anywhere I have mentioned thus far, and that simple burglary won't be enough. That and my primary concern is losing my small weaponry collection instead of my cash.

An alternative that hasn't been mentioned yet is to hide it somewhere in your vehicle. However, that's not so much security as it is convenience, since it's likely that you can be out and about when your find yourself in an immediate emergency situation, or if an imminent emergency should arise, you'll be piling into the car anyways. Either way, this tactic has been long known by gun folks a la the trunk rifle concept. This works best if you have a garage, but it's something that's worth considering I think.

Last but not least, I want to emphasize something that he slyly remarked in the beginning of the article. The easiest way to solve a lot of this issue is to simply have a bank deposit box.
