I would say if you have 5-10 years, you could get into NYX (New York Stock Exchange) They are positioning themselves to be the first ever global exchange.

I also think Pepsi (PEP) and General Mills (GIS) would be good plays and consistent (although slower) growers.

I would also look at:

Capital One Financial (COF) or Goldman Sachs (GS) in the financial sector.
Google (GOOG) or Apple (AAPL) in Technology
Conoco (COP) , Chevron (CVX) or Halliburton (HAL) in energy
Lowes (LOW) in retail
Genentech (DNA) or Amgen (AMGN) in Biotech/Pharma
Toyota (TM) in Automotive

Main thing with individual stocks is to stay diversified.
