I would think that a lot of the Big Screen TV's that were bought, the new Play Box for $600 and just all of the new technology out there that was available just for the holidays. I'm seeing people buy those big-screen TV's that I know can't afford them.

The big screens are tempting just alone for the little space that the flat panel takes up. I'm of the belief that until it breaks, don't fix it. Although I read somewhere where the regular TV's withour HDTV won't work with a regular antennae. You will need a satellite or cable provider to get a signal.

The other thing I've seen in one particular family is the competition over who can buy the biggest TV. This is true. Some started out with 50, then 56, 60 inch and the last I heard one bought a 72 in. Mind you, this is in the same family. As soon as someone buys a larger TV, someone will sell their present Big Screen and go out and buy one larger than the other family members. Don't they realize people see through all this/ They'll be the first ones to ask you why you don't have one. I simply say that I don't watch that much TV to make it worth my while to make a purchase that large.
