One more point to mention. My MBNA account was pretty close to the limit. Within $300. Because I paid just a bit over the minimum each month (as it was sort of low on my snowball list) I wasn't making much progress on it.

When they upped my rate, the new interest charged took me to within $50 of my limit, so unless I send them a bunch of money, I will be going over my credit limit and be charged a fee simply because of the higher interest rate.

Ohhhhhh. These people have really ticked me off.
