For years my husband and I would always get take out on Friday because we deserved it. But for years because of our goal to retire early we conserve. We do go out but not nearly as often. My husband and I decided to just budget a Friday night "date" in. When we made it part of our budget, we controlled it better. Of course, we had to balance that by cutting back elsewhere... They might advertise a special fight with so and so on - Friday or Saturday night. They know that you're more likely to be at home and could have friends over for any occasion. The restaurant says it all. TGIF. Thank God it's Friday. Sometimes when it comes to parties, you might just have to excuse yourself and give a gift to the party without going to the restauant. This is only if it's someone that you don't want to celebrate. Also, weekend airfare specials are tempting as well.
