As we understand Steve’s comment ( not easy!), he asserts that prostitution is on the increase in nudist venues whilst admitting to paying prostitutes to accompany him to nudist venues!
Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised that he fails to spot the irony in that statement.
Might we suggest to Steve that, if he is concerned about the welfare of children, he and his like confine their activities to the alleyways, whorehouses, and sex clubs where they belong and stop infesting nudist sites. Maybe then we’ll all be a little more comfortable.

As a long time nudist and dues paying member of the American Association for Nude Recreation I would like to add a few savings. Airlines are now charging for checked bagage and I never pay. I save a ton of time not checking my bags and waiting for them at the end of my trip. Of course I travel with clothes but nothing more than will fit under the seat in front of me. Saving time and money…:)

Joe, I agree with you completely. In fact, I am knocking myself over the head for not coming to the realization about training up our children properly in time. Unfortunately, although we have always been open about our bodies around our house, our children were already being influenced by our clothing-compulsive culture before I realized what was actually happening.

Also, I do not think that Al Gore would be much interested in pushing a naturist agenda, even though it can be shown to be VERY environmentally friendly. There is simply no money in encouraging people to use LESS of something. Perhaps he could profit if they came up with “cotton credits”. (big smile).

I discovered nudism at JD MacArthur Park on Singer Island on Florida’s east coast in my early 20’s (I am now 57). I admit that I was imagining scores of beautiful naked women lined up on the beach. However, that was not the case. Fortunately for me the park at that time was frequented by middle aged Europeans and their families vacationing there and as I walked the shoreline I realized that this beach seen was no different than any other along the coast. People of all shapes and sizes and ages playing Frisbee, surf fishing, walking their dogs, swimming and body surfing. I was greeted by “good morning” and “hello” from most everyone. It was refreshing to be associated which such casual nudist on my first experience. Ladies if you are tired of “gawkers” when you go to the beach then try a nude beach. Nothing left to the human imagination and the mind becomes bored and drifts elsewhere, the gawking ends. America’s hypocrisy towards the naked body is laughable. On the surface social pressure requires that we be “aghast” at seeing nudity, but yet the media floods us all daily with titillating sexuality at every turn. Just the thought of glimpsing a taboo body part keeps us glued to the event. Sports Illustrated bikini edition with the see thru bikini’s on every page, Victoria Secrets lingerie fanfare on national TV. The magazine racks and video stores all provide an area for nude entertainment. If clothing optional living were a commonplace acceptance in and around each home all the sexual titillation would vanish. America’s issues with pornography, exhibitionists, lurkers, gawkers, perverts would greatly diminish. All the above would surely stand out from the crowd and consequently be driven away. Simply stated, “If you’ve seen one you’ve seen ‘em all”, Nakedness, nudity, boobs, and penises would become blasé. People would eventually say “so what??!!” and go on with their day. Think about it…an exhibitionist is looking for the “shock” effect. If no one is shocked the fun is gone and so the exhibitionist fades away. What will also fade away are the “dirty” businesses that profit from humanities innate curiosity to see the opposite sex naked. Why is this so difficult for everyone to understand?
One more point, I believe that Americas transition towards nudism is held back largely in part by the average adults inability to answer questions asked by their children as to why boys and girls are different. Adults are terrified by the prospect of having “the talk” with their adolescent children. Then, by the time we get around to it they have already learned it the hard way, in the back seat of a car on an old dirt road somewhere. Then we chastise our kids for their failure when in fact it was our doing, or lack thereof. We adults should be ashamed of being ashamed.
I found this thread looking for data on how much positive impact on the environment a nudist America might generate. How much would be saved by each American family in a year if nudism were an accepted norm. I wonder if Al Gore is a nudist?

Great piece Nathan; thank you for sharing. I strongly disagree with those who think living a naturist Way of life is akin to exhibitionism. We see what we want to see and we hear what we want to hear.

All those kids caught up in the “sexting” scandal in Pennsylvania would be better off not with the sort of counseling that will admonish them DON’T DO THAT DIRTY STUFF but rather some classes and first hand experience on body acceptance.

If God had wanted us to be clothed he would have made it so we’d be born that way. Did God make a mistake?
