If It Seems Too Good To Be True…


When it comes to your personal finances, we say it time and again…if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is. That still doesn’t keep people for falling for scams as this British show reveals when it sets up a computer scam:

The end advice that you should always get a receipt (with the stores contact information) which details the work to be done written on it is a good first step. I would also include:

  • If the advertisement was found on a flyer or in a free newspaper rather than a paid advertisement in a mainstream media outlet, you should be extra careful and go in assuming it’s a scam (and make them prove it otherwise).
  • A quick Internet search for the company in your areas Better Business Bureau can help confirm they are legit. If the BBB doesn’t know about the company, start raising those red flags.
  • And if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is….
