A quick step away from personal finance…

I’m not sure whether I should be happy or disappointed that one of the most popular posts on this site has little to do with personal finances. The fact is that my post about my wife’s entrepreneurial spirit and how it has made living in our house a cute nightmare of epic proportions has been one that I still get emails from those who read it. It seems that anyone who remembers it feels compelled to send me photos of strange Hello Kitty items they have come across and ask how the entire situation is going.

Since I seem unable to escape from it, I have decided to share it with one and all. That’s correct, I invite everyone to join me in Hello Kitty Hell and my life dealing with cute overload. I suppose that since I have to live with it, it should brighten up other people’s lives. I figure that no matter how depressed someone is, they can read about the Hello Kitty torture I endure and will see that life isn’t nearly as bad as they once thought ;)

Warning: you may not be aware of how frightening Hello Kitty fanatics can be. Here is the car that my wife currently has her eyes set on…

As a Hello Kitty fanatic myself, I have to tell you that the Hello Kitty stuff on that car was apparently photoshopped. http://www.kaplink.net/7610/archives/000230.html

But there are Hello Kitty cars:

Sigh. If only I had need of a new car…

Yes, in the post on the new site, I explained to her that the car was photoshopped, but as would be expected, it made little difference in her still wanting it. There are actually a number of Hello Kitty cars in Japan (scary thought in itself), not to mention taxis, buses and scooters. We’ve avoided purchasing any of them up to this point, but I have a feeling it’s only a matter of time…

Sorry mate, cant help feeling a little sorry for you, Hello Kitty fans, are I think slightly reliving their childhood in some way. I mean who would take anyone seriously driving around in a bright pink hello kitty car. Look on the bright side i guess you wont have to drive it, if thats any consolation, do you have a garage that you can hide it in?

I love the new site. I really didn’t think there were so many Hello Kitty fans. I have seen some truly big Disney fans in Japan where every item in their house was Disney. You really need to have an understanding partner!
