Investing Page - new satellite website We have our newest satellite site up which is focused on the basics of investing at Investing Page. In addition to being a new sat site, it’s also our first sat site where we are starting out from day one with a manager for the site. Roger Sorensen, who has been writing on personal finance for a number of years, has decided to join us in this project and we’re extremely happy to have him aboard.

I have high hopes for this site and I’m excited that we finally have a dedicated site to investing among our growing list. While the main site started out as a “saving money” site, it quickly blossomed into a personal finance site. Over the last six months, discussions in the forums have started to also address a lot of investing questions, so this new sat site is a natural development of where the entire group is heading.

While the main focus of this site will be the basics of investing, I can foresee in the not too distant future where we develop other sites with a more advanced investing flavor or this site begins to address investing topics beyond the basics. If the results of the first half of this month are any indication, we’ll be looking to add more managers in the months to come to the other sites we have.

Do you ever notice a drop in adsense earnings by placing them on new sites, with not so much traffic?

Also, I have been reading a great deal on webmasterworld that by actually reducing the number of ads on a page can increase the money you make.

Possibly with finance sites there is a large pool of high paying advertisers, where you won’t have this problem.

We haven’t noticed a decrease, but we haven’t seen the incremental increases in income we had hoped for. We seem to be trading water - we put up new sites and get more clicks, but monthly income stays about the same - that being said, this month has been good to us thus far (knock on wood).

Also, I have been reading a great deal on webmasterworld that by actually reducing the number of ads on a page can increase the money you make.

This would make sense since it would mean that visitors could only click on the more expensive ads 8since these would be the only ones shown). There can be a huge range of payout if you have more than 10 ads displaying on a page. Might have to experiment with that one month - I think the key there would be to make sure the ads were front and center if they were limited to just a few.

Congratulation to you for starting a new site. New site = new income !

I would like to ask you some question.

Do you concentrate on SEO for your page? Write article base on keywords?
How you going to market your site especially when you start a new statelite site?

No. I write the sites based on material I already have from my main site for the most part.

How you going to market your site especially when you start a new satellite site?

Now it is pretty straight forward since I have done a number of these. I have the advantage of being able to utilize my main site and this blog to get it into search engines quickly. Once in the search engines, some of them do quite well and there is no need for me to do anything else. The others I have started an experiment of hiring managers to try and get them to produce more.
