Hi,

Your site was recommended by a friend. As a 27 yo female, I really pride myself on my financial shrewdness.

I wanted to add an additional thing I do at least. I take all my manuals that I get from purchasing items. Realistically how often do you even look at them. I staple the receipt or photcopy of the receipt and file them into per room categories (Kitchen, office, masterbedroom, etc).

This not only makes it easier to reference the manual/pamphlet if needed, then you can also recall the actual cost of the item. As well as my room photos I keep. I currently have these in a home safe. Now it takes time, and patience and takes up some room. The good thing is that if you review your inventory every year you can see what things are no longer or barely used, and get rid of them.

Cheers-

Personally if I do this today, after I make my list I might have to get rid of what I forgot, I I don't remember it well enough to want it back when lost, why am I storing it? (BTW the if is due to a 3 month old, I do like the challenges very much)

Just a note to let you know how much I'm enjoying the daily challenges. I too, wish they could continue indefinitely. I don't even know how long the series is!! I'm learning so much with each challenge & looking forward to the next.

Today's has me slowed down for some reason............the taking pictures & recording what I have just isn't doing it for me. Perhaps because I truly don't have a lot of things.

I've had a group home in my home for the last 30 years & almost everything has been broken, lost or stolen over the years. So, when moving to this new house & starting from scratch, there really isn't much here. I've furnished my home with things that were literally bolted to the floors & walls..........This is WAY different.

Maybe I'll make the inventory & as I buy or acquire something for the new place, I'll add it to the list .... I will complete the task!

I'm guessing I'm not motivated on this one because I've never had to submit any sort of claim..........There's an advantage to not having much!

keep the challenges coming!

If you did have a detailed list of items in your house, it wouldn't seem that just the list itself is 'proof' that you have these things. Unless, of course, you have kept receipts of all these items, and i think the vast majority of people won't have done so.

I think the videotape or photos would be much better.
