I saw very few of the TV episodes of this series, but I have read all of the books.

They show that the women who were pioneers and settlers had to know how to do everything because little was available. At Plum Creek the plums were dried to be eaten during the winter. In 'Little House In The Big Woods' the winter's food had to be prepared, grown and stored during the summer to prepare for the long winter months.

Good article.

I really enjoyed this post. I loved the Little House on the Prairie growing up. If you disect the episodes, they really do have a moral lesson throughout. Great post.
