Have you ever wondered about other’s money secrets? This is part of a series of money confessions I gathered from audience members I spoke to last month. Everyone has money secrets and I thought it would be interesting to share some of them here. This is number 6 in the series:

I only date men for their money

  • me too says:

I’m not proud of it, but when I was younger I did basically the same thing. I would go to a restaurant and order the most expensive meal on the menu and then not touch it. If the man made any comment about me not eating it, then I knew he didn’t have enough money. I embarrassed about it still today.

  • Joey says:

hahaha, see this is funny. I did the opposite. Before I got married, I used to take dates to really inexpensive, but cool places. JUST to see if this girl was a money grubbing *insert expletive of choice*

This was a great way to see if I would be getting a second date. If they weren’t interested it was either because money was on their mind or:
    • I was too boring
    • I was too ugly
    • I wasn’t funny enough
    • My nails weren’t clean
    • My teeth weren’t white enough
    • I didn’t drive a nice enough car

Blah blah blah, Im an ok guy ;)

Most of the times a girl wouldn’t have a clue I had money until they saw my house or they saw what was in my garage.

  • darren says:

Don’t worry about it. I only date you for your looks :)

  • dr543 says:

I only pretended to have money so you would sleep with me

  • vsjhoc says:

If I get the sense that a guy is trying to impress me with his money, I run the other way. I once dumped a guy (partly) because he drove a Mercedes convertible.

Besides, who knows how much debt someone has? Often the more they own, the more the owe.
