I end up stealing money out of the change jar for parking or lunch money or whatever. Besides, the change jar doesn't pay interest! I put my savings into an account as soon as I get paid. I save my "silver" change for parking meters and try to spend the pennies at the cash register whenever I can. For those who do save coins, if you are willing to take the time to roll your own coins, my bank doesn't charge to exchange them. It's not as if Coinstar is the only option.
