With gas prices hovering around $3 a gallon and expected to go higher in at least the short term, everyone has someone to blame (isn’t that the American way?) Fortune.com has a decent article putting some perspective into some of the myths people have about the high gas prices.

These include the common belief that gas stations are gouging consumers (in reality, they are hurting just as bad if not worse), that we’re running out of oil (techinically we are since it is a limited resource, but there is still plenty of it at the moment) and that the governement should intervene to bring down gas prices (“The last time the U.S. went down that road, in the 1970s, the end result was gas lines, shortages–and little change in prices.”) among others.
